AI-Powered, beneficial insect rearing system for greenhouse farms
Omma is transforming pest control in greenhouse farming by developing an AI-powered, modular system that automates the on-farm rearing of beneficial insects.
Vision
This machine-learning technology enables growers to produce a steady supply of beneficial insects on-site, allowing for continuous and preventative pest control. By removing the need for specific insect expertise on-site, Omma offers a sustainable alternative to chemical pesticides, meeting the increasing demand for eco-friendly agricultural solutions.
Omma ran its first trial in summer 2025 and in July 2025 SAIC members contributed 40% to the initial raising of funds. The success of the trial has led to significant commercial interest and SAIC members have invested further in March/April 2026.
Investment Overview
“We were impressed by Omma’s vision and how they have tackled the issue” said Michael Penny who led the follow up due diligence for SAIC. “They have a practical approach to solving a significant market challenge and we’re greatly encouraged by the progress they have made in a short time period.”
Founder Response
“We’re thrilled to have Southern Angels anchor our recent funding and to see the full allotment taken up so quickly” said James Webb , Founder and CEO of Omma. “This is a huge vote of confidence in our vision and ability to execute our business plan. The additional funds raised will enable us to execute the plan: whilst accelerating our R&D efforts”
